The ND-series archaeological survey droid has been a mainstay of archaeology projects for centuries. The ND-81 model was introduced roughly shortly after the end of the Clone Wars. It featured small, high-grade repulsorlift generators, allowing it to ignore rough terrain and also soar high above deep chasms without missing a beat. The ND-81 features a dedicated archaeology data core that can be updated with data regarding a specific dig or project, allowing it to more accurately locate relevant objects of interest. It has a built-in computer interface, allowing it to directly connect with computer systems that might be found on site. Its most prominent tool is a high-resolution holocam that can record in great detail for later playback; its video feed can also be viewed on a control pad by a remote viewer/operator.
