Lucky Score

Post by Nytwyng »

Stopped by a game store near me to spend some of my Christmas cash. They’d set up an aisle with out of print RPG books starting at $1.

In the boxes they had a bunch of
  • Best of Star Wars Adventure Journal Issues 1-4
  • Cracken’s Threat Dossier
  • Creatures of the Galaxy
  • The Far Orbit Project
  • Platt’s Starport Guide
I’ve got most of them. Grabbed the Adventure Journal collection for $4. Came home to double check, and I’ll be heading back later to grab Creatures of the Galaxy for $2.

It was. They were in amazing shape, and I remain shocked at the quantities they had of each.

We have a used book store here in Chattanooga, that every now and then I can find and acquire a good copy.

Those prices are sweet... the hiked prices on Eb*y are atrocious. Before Eb*y you could nip into your LFGS and pick up a 2nd hand/OOP rpg for half price or less... even SW d6 stuff back in the day. Those days are long gone. A few months back when FFG announced the dropping of SW I saw a set of dice for £70!! I took a screenshot of several other LFGS dice prices, bewteen £10 & £20, and sent it the 'Eb*y Price Police' I checked back a few hours later and the posting was gone - either some sucker bought them (hope not) or the seller was forced to remove it.

I'm glad I bought six sets when the prices were reasonble... you can never have too many Force Dice :geek:

I’d just started picking up L5R stuff when the FFG RPG layoffs were announced, and that uncertainty had me snatching up the last set or two of L5R dice that the store near me had. I like to think I’m good on Star Wars dice for now, with 9 sets. :D

I've ended up with 21 sets of the SW dice. I need more red dice!
